Chocolate Covered Oreos

This is a super fun and festive treat! It comes together super quick and easy and everyone will love them!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Oreos
  • 20 ounces candy melts or chocolate chips (I prefer Ghiradelli)
  • sprinkles (optional)

Directions:

  1. Melt the chocolate in 30 second intervals, stirring well each time until the chocolate is completely melted.
  2. Dip the Oreos in the chocolate, one at a time, using a fork to remove them from the bowl of melted chocolate. Place them on parchment or wax paper to harden at room temperature. If you are using sprinkles, add them after every five Oreos or so, so that the chocolate doesn't have time to harden. Otherwise the sprinkles will not stick.

*Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

*You can get creative and use different flavors of Oreos and chocolate. Examples include: mint chocolate Oreos dipped in milk or dark chocolate, lemon Oreos dipped in white chocolate, peppermint Oreos dipped in milk or dark chocolate, pumpkin spice Oreos dipped in pumpkin spice chocolate, pumpkin spice Oreos dipped in melted cream cheese chips) Of coarse, there are many more combinations that you could come up with, these are just a few ideas.

*You can also use different colored candy melts for different holidays and occasions to make the cookies look more festive. You can also look for Oreos with different colored filling around the holidays, like orange at Halloween and red at Christmas, for a fun surprise when you bite inside.
