Ingredients:
- 1/2 pound strawberries, rinsed and dried
- 6-8 ounces candy melts, white or milk chocolate (I prefer Ghirardelli)
Directions:
- Melt your candy melts in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Be sure to remove them from the microwave and stir well after each interval. This will help prevent scorching. If you're using white chocolate, you can dye it now with a bit of food coloring.
- You can insert a skewer into the tops of the strawberries to help dip them. You'll want to roll them around in your chocolate making sure to cover most of the strawberry, but not the green on top. You can also do this by bunching the green up and using it as a handle to hold the strawberries when dipping them.
- You want to let the chocolate solidify for about 5-15 minutes on the strawberries. They can now be eaten, or you can continue to decorate them.
- You can melt about 2 ounces of candy melts to drizzle on top, following the same method as step one. You can then use a small spoon or a piping bag with a bit of the end cut off, to drizzle the chocolate across the strawberries. If you are using white chocolate, you can use a little food coloring to dye it before drizzling. If you want to add sprinkles to them, you'll want to do that now, before the chocolate hardens. This will help them adhere well to your strawberries. Let the chocolate harden for an additional 5-15 minutes and they are ready to be eaten.
*Store in an airtight container in refrigerator for up to 2 days.
*You can make these for loved ones for holidays. They are certainly a crowd pleaser so you can't go wrong. You can also make them for parties as a fun finger food or dessert.
*These are great to fill in empty spots on a charcuterie board. They would be great as breakfast, dessert or even on a cheese board.
