Chocolate M&M Cookies

These cookies are super quick and easy to make. They leave very little mess and are so yummy. They are a perfect little snack and everyone will love them.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter Crisco
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups M&M's, plus more for topping

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, cream together Crisco and sugars with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla.
  5. Beat in the cocoa powder until well incorporated. Scrape the bowl as needed.
  6. Mix in eggs, one at a time, scraping the bowl after each addition.
  7. Mix in flour half a cup at a time.
  8. Fold in the M&M's.
  9. Scoop cookie dough by rounded tablespoon onto your prepared baking sheet. Make sure dough balls are about 1 1/2 inches apart. Top the cookies with additional M&M's for a bakery-style look.
  10. Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool on baking sheet for about 3-5 minutes. Enjoy!

*Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days.

*If cookies have risen in the center, lightly tap your baking sheet on the counter to get them to flatten.

Makes about 45-50 cookies
