Egg Nog

Egg Nog

This nog is quick and easy. It definitely beats any supermarket brand out there. Its textures are creamy and smooth, and it has a little spice to liven it up. It tastes just like Christmas!

Ingredients:

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Separate the eggs. Have yolks in one bowl and whites in another.
  2. In the bowl with yolks, add sugar and vanilla. Whisk together.
  3. Add the cream and whole milk. Whisk together.
  4. Refrigerate mixture for at least one hour. Refrigerate egg white as well to keep them good.
  5. Whip egg white with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
  6. Fold whipped eggs into mixture.
  7. Serve in glasses topped with whipped cream and a pinch of cinnamon. Enjoy!

*Store in an airtight container in fridge for up to 2 days.

*If you want to make this a day in advance, reserve your egg whites and whip right before serving so they don't go flat.

*You can spike this with 1 cup to 1 1/2 cups of your favorite alcohol. This pairs best with brandy, bourbon and/or rum.
