French Toast

French Toast

This recipe is super easy and quick. This is a perfect breakfast for the whole family. The adults will love it and so will the kids. You can personalize this yummy dish with all of your favorite toppings, just like waffles and pancakes.

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of white bread (I prefer Pepperidge Farm Farmhouse bread)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon whole milk
  • cooking spray (I prefer olive oil)
  • powdered sugar (optional garnish)
  • syrup (optional)
  • peanut butter (optional)
  • butter spread (optional)

Directions:

  1. Add the eggs, milk, cinnamon and vanilla to a large, shallow bowl. Whisk together until a custard forms.
  2. Place a griddle over medium-high heat. Spray with cooking spray. Dip the bread into the custard on each side. Do not soak. Add to the griddle, cooking about 2 minutes on each side until golden. Repeat with remaining bread, spraying the griddle each time. (You can use butter instead of cooking spray, if you prefer)
  3. Dress and enjoy! Serve warm.

*The cinnamon may start to clump in the custard as you are cooking. This is okay. You can just whisk before dipping your bread each time to break up clumps.

*If you notice the cinnamon getting low as you make more french toast, just add more to the custard as needed, whisking well.
