- In a small bowl, whisk together milk, egg and melted butter.
- Add the wet mixture into the dry. Whisk together until just combined, making sure not to over mix.
- This recipe calls for a mini waffle iron. For one that is shaped, like this one, it will take about 2 tablespoons of the wet mixture. For a regular mini waffle iron, it will take about 3 tablespoons of the wet mixture. You want to cook the waffle for 2-4 minutes until golden. This time depends on how crispy you prefer the waffles. You can do 2 minutes for a softer waffle, or up to 4 minutes for a darker, crispier waffle.
- Serve warm with syrup and butter.
*You can top these waffle with a number of things, such as: whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate chips, strawberry syrup, chocolate syrup, mini marshmallows, graham cracker crumbs, fresh fruit, candy, etc. You can really be creative with these waffles.
*These would be great for a brunch, because they are small and make a lot. You could make a charcuterie board or set up a small brunch bar. It would be great for Valentine's Day, an anniversary, or even Mother's Day. This would also be fun for a Galentine's Day with your friends.
*If you don't have a shaped waffle iron, you can always cut them with cookie cutters after they have finished cooking. This way you get to pick your own shape, and you can really use your imagination. This would also be a fun step for kids to help with. You can let them pick their own shapes and cut out their own waffles. You could even let them decorate the waffles after for a fun activity.
