Pumpkin French Toast
This yummy fall recipe adds a twist to an old classic. This is one of your favorite childhood breakfasts, just with an added flavor of Autumn. It's subtle, but very delicious.

Ingredients:
- 12 slices of bread
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 4 large eggs
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Optional Toppings:
- whipped cream
- syrup
- powdered sugar
- butter
- pecans
Directions:
- Add all of the ingredients (except the bread) to a medium shallow dish, and whisk until smooth.
- Heat a frying pan or griddle to medium-high heat.
- Lightly butter the skillet or grease with olive oil. Dip bread into mixture, lightly covering each side. Do not let bread soak in mixture. Grill 2-4 minutes on each side until golden. Repeat this step with remaining bread.
- Serve warm with toppings, if desired.
