Pumpkin Patch Brownies

Pumpkin Patch Brownies

These brownies are so cute and festive for Spooky season. They are great for any Halloween party or movie night. They are super easy to make and everyone will love them!

Ingredients:

  • 1 box Pilsbury Milk Chocolate Brownie Mix
  • 1 canister Pilsbury Milk Chocolate Frosting
  • 1 canister Pilsbury green Funfetti Frosting
  • 1 small bag Brach's MallowCream Pumpkins
  • 2/3 cup melted butter, salted
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 eggs

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven according to the directions on the back of the box. Grease a pan of your choice (I used a 9 x 9 inch baking dish). Line with parchement paper, leaving wings on all four sides. This will help you remove the brownies after baking. Set aside.
  2. Follow the baking instructions according to the back of the box, substituting the water for whole milk and the oil for melted butter. This will make the brownies taste more homemade and give them a better overall texture.
  3. Once the brownies have finished baking, allow them to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Then remove them from the pan and allow them to finish cooling completely on a wire rack.
  4. Once the brownies have cooled, cut off all of the edges so that you have a nice and even square (or rectangle, depending on what size pan you used). Keep the edges for later in this recipe. Cut the brownies into even sized sqares or rectangles the best that you can.
  5. Frost each brownie individually with the milk chocolate frosting, leaving the  edges exposed. You can apply this layer as thick or as thin as you like. Use a spoon to make little swoops to look more like mud.
  6. Add the pumpkins to the tops of the brownies. You can stand some up, lay some down, and make them face different directions to make them look like they would if they were growing in a pumpkin patch.
  7. Crush up some of the edge pieces that you saved very finely and sprinkle lightly across the tops to look like dirt. You can add as many or as little of the crumbs as you like.
  8. Using a piping bag fitted with the smallest round tip or snip the tip of just barley with a pair of scissors, pipe vines onto your brownies with the green frosting. You can make loops and squiggles to make the vines look more messy and natural. You can pipe some over and around the pumpkins to make them look like they are attached to the vines. You can also add some little leaves here and there on the vines and on the tops of the pumpkins if you like. You will do this with a piping bag fitted with the smallest leaf tip.
  9. If you're enjoying these as part of a Charlie Brown movie night, you can print off "Welcome Great Pumpkin" signs (or write your own signs) and attach them to toothpicks.

*Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.

*You can get 9 or more brownies out of this recipe, depending on what size pan you use and how big you choose to cut them.

*You can use your favorite brownie mix instead, just be sure to adjust the ingredients and bake times according to the directions on that package instead.

*You could also make brownies from scratch with homemade frosting to take these brownies to the next level!
