Ingredients:

  • 3-4 potatoes
  • 40 ounces canola oil or vegetable oil
  • salt
  • garlic powder
  • paprika
  • dried parsley

Directions:

  1. Peel, rinse and cut your potatoes into half inch straws.
  2. Add the fries to a bowl of cold water. Make sure it covers them completely. Let soak for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Add paper towels to a plate. Remove the fries from the water and place on the paper towel. Allow the paper towels to soak away the water.
  4. Add the oil to a large 5 quart pot. Heat to 250F.
  5. Line a drip rack or baking sheet with paper towels and set aside.
  6. Add all of the fries to the heated oil. Be sure the oil stays at 250F. You may need to increase or decrease your heat as necessary.
  7. Cook the fries for 12-15 minutes.Remove from the oil and place on the prepared paper towels from earlier to soak up the excess grease. Go ahead and season them to taste while they are hot, so the seasonings adhere to the fries.
  8. Serve warm with any of your favorite entrees like, chicken tenders, hamburgers, buffalo chicken sliders, bbq chicken sliders or eat them by themselves as a yummy snack or meal.
