Feb 25, 2025

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons corn starch
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 5 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 light brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350F. Line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper, leaving flaps on the two longest sides. This will make the brownies easier to remove from the pan later. Set aside.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, corn starch, cocoa powder and salt. Set aside.
- Add the walnuts to a small bowl and toss with one tablespoon of the flour mixture. Set aside.
- Add the butter and oil into a microwave safe bowl and microwave just long enough for the butter to melt. Stir in the chocolate chips until fully melted. Pulse in 30 second intervals only as needed, stirring well after each interval.
- In a medium mixing bowl, beat together the eggs and sugars until light and frothy. Mix in the vanilla.
- Slowly stir in the liquid chocolate mixture to the egg mixture. Be sure the liquid is not too hot that it will cook your eggs.
- Mix in the flour mixture until just incorporated, making sure not to over-mix.
- Fold in the walnuts, if desired.
- Add the batter to your prepared pan and smooth into an even layer with a rubber spatula or spoon.
- Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and tap on your stove 5-7 times. Bake for 20 additional minutes. Remove from oven and tap on the stove 5 more times. Allow brownies to cool completely, then remove from the pan using the flaps you made earlier. Cut into 9-12 even sized brownies and enjoy!
*Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
*If you want to copy my brownie sundae (pictured above), just top a brownie with some soft serve vanilla ice cream (I prefer Blue Bunny) and drizzle with some caramel syrup (I prefer Hersheys or you can make it homemade).
