Valentine's Cake Mix Cookies

Ingredients:
- 1 box strawberry cake mix
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup butter flavored Crisco
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 package Hershey Strawberry Filled Hearts
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Add the sugar to a small bowl and set aside.
- In a medium mixing bowl, beat the cake mix, Crisco and eggs together until fully incorporated.
- Roll the dough into tablespoon sized balls and roll in the sugar.Place about an inch and a half apart on your prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12 minutes.
- Allow to cool for 2-3 minutes and place the heart candies on the cookies while they are still somewhat warm, but not too hot or the cookies will melt the chocolates. Enjoy!
*You can use melted butter or vegetable oil in place of the Crisco, but you will want to chill the dough balls for at least 30 minutes in the fridge before baking. You do not have to chill the dough if you use Crisco.
*You can get creative with this recipe and use different flavored cake mix and different candies. Here are some ideas: chocolate cake mix and chocolate caramel filled hearts, red velvet cake and cookies and cream hearts, yellow cake mix and chocolate hearts, etc. The measurements for the ingredients will remain the same.
