Drop Biscuits

Drop Biscuits

These biscuits are super quick and easy to make. If you need a last minute side idea then these are perfect for that. You probably already have all of the ingredients on hand and they come together in a flash.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup whole milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Add the flour, baking powder and salt to the bowl of your food processor. Pulse until well incorporated.
  3. Add in the cubed butter and pulse only a few seconds until the butter is barely visible in the mixture.
  4. Add in the milk and pulse until you have a large sticky mass of dough that is easy to work with. If the mass is too dry and not coming together enough, you can add a tablespoon extra of the milk at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
  5. Pinch the dough into 7 or 8 mounds and space them evenly apart on your baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the tops are golden brown.
  6. Allow them to cool for just a couple of minutes before serving. Serve with any of my yummy butter spreads, if desired. (strawberry, lemon, honey cinnamon, orange honey) These also are great with gravy or pair well as a side to any meal.

*Store in an airtight container in the fridge or at room temperature for 3-5 days. Freeze for up to two months.
